Q. Tell us a bit about yourself? – City, family, hobbies, job title

A. My name is Satish Upadhyaya, and I currently live in Canada with my family. Professionally, I work as a Microsoft 365 Architect, independently supporting customers with various Microsoft services, including Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot. I’m honored to be recognized as a Microsoft MVP in both Teams and Copilot, which allows me to share knowledge and collaborate closely with the broader Microsoft community. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling to different places, exploring cultures, and experiencing local cuisines, which gives me fresh perspectives and keeps me inspired both personally and professionally.

Q. What does a typical workday look like for you?

A. A typical workday for me is a mix of customer conversations and solution design. I usually start by checking in on project priorities and then spend a good part of the day helping customers make the most of Microsoft 365, especially Teams and Copilot. Some days I’m deep into designing solutions, and other days I’m running workshops or guiding adoption strategies.

I also like to carve out time to explore new features, experiment a bit, and share insights with the Microsoft community as part of my MVP journey. It keeps things fresh and exciting, and no two days really look the same—which is something I enjoy.

Q. Your favorite M365 feature/tool and why

A. One of the biggest challenges I see is that many organizations roll out tools like Teams or Copilot really quickly but don’t always take the time to think about how people will actually use them day to day. The technology is powerful, but if it isn’t aligned to your workflows, data, and security—or if users only see it as “just another chat or meeting tool”—you don’t get the full value.

For example, with Copilot, some expect results right away without first making sure it’s connected to the right business processes. And with Teams, many stick to the basics—chatting and calling—while missing out on all the features that make collaboration more seamless and secure.

That’s where Teams Premium really changes the game. Features like intelligent meeting recaps, AI-driven insights, advanced security, and personalized experiences go beyond standard Teams to make your meetings smarter and more productive.

In today’s demo, we’ll explore how Teams Premium brings all of this together as a complete package—helping you save time, work smarter, and get real results.

Q. Where do you think Microsoft is going with M365.. Be totally honest

A. Honestly, I think Microsoft is steering M365 toward being less of a “set of apps” and more of a true AI-powered work platform. The vision is pretty clear—Copilot is being woven into every workload, whether that’s Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, or even security and compliance. Instead of jumping between tools, the idea is to have your work come to you, in context, with AI helping you make sense of it all.

At the same time, Microsoft is putting a big emphasis on security, compliance, and governance—because as AI gets more powerful, trust becomes even more important. I also see them investing heavily in personalization, so the experience feels tailored to each role and industry, not just “one size fits all.”

In short, M365 is evolving into a productivity ecosystem where AI is the backbone, and Teams is at the center of it all. That’s exciting, but it also means organizations will need to think differently about adoption, change management, and data readiness to really unlock the value.

Q. Where do you source your knowledge? - Twitter- who do you follow, site urls

A. Most of my insights actually come from LinkedIn, where my fellow colleagues regularly share their experiences working with different customers, along with the technical challenges and roadblocks they’ve helped solve. It’s a great way to stay connected with real-world scenarios.

In addition, I rely on resources like the Microsoft 365 Community Blogs and the Microsoft Tech Community, which are excellent for keeping up with product updates and best practices.

And of course, one of the most valuable sources is the MVP network itself. Exchanging knowledge and experiences with MVPs across the globe gives me perspectives and practical learnings you simply won’t find in documentation.

Q. Where can people find you?
